The Agricultural Chemistry Laboratory serves as the State Chemist’s laboratory for official analysis of feeds, fertilizers, liming materials, pesticides, meats and other analyses requested by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry.

Farmers Market Program Marketing & Agricultural Economic Develpment - Farmers Market Programs
Those who qualify will receive a book of five $4-coupons ($20), which can be used only to buy fresh fruits and vegetables approved by the Louisiana Farmers Nutrition Program from farmers at approved Farmers' Markets and roadside stands (or farm stands).

Food distribution is responsible for receiving, storing and distributing USDA donated commodities for the school lunch program and other donated food programs administered by USDA.

Food Quality Services inspects fruit and vegetable products at receiving warehouses when requested. The Food Quality Services inspectors inspect the produce to USDA standards as to grade and condition at the applicant's request.
 
Grading & Certification Animal Health Services - Federal/State Meat Programs
The LDAF Grading and Certification program ensures the meat, poultry, and seafood products received by state institutions and schools are wholesome and of the highest quality.
 
Milk Testing Program Agro-Consumer Services - Dairy Division
The Milk testing Program addresses the raw production and handling of milk from the farm to the processing plant.
 
Poultry & Egg Animal Health Services - Poultry & Egg Programs
The Poultry and Egg Division is responsible for voluntary grading service on poultry, eggs and certain dairy products, resident grading USDA approved poultry and egg plants, fee grading for poultry and eggs performed by federally licensed state Graders; state grading and certification of poultry and eggs for state institutions and parish schools, collecting assessments, issuing licenses, handling promotions and providing clerical staff for the Louisiana Egg Commission, collecting inspection fees, auditing egg licenses, inspecting retail outlets and enforcing the Louisiana Egg Marketing Act.
