Coastal Wetlands Re-Vegetation Soil & Water Conservation -
This program is conducted through partnerships among the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, the LA Department of Natural Resources/Coastal Restoration Division, the LDAF/Office of Soil & Water Conservation and eleven coastal SWCDs. Using locally adapted plant species, an average of 30 linear miles of shoreline and interior wetland restoration plantings are implemented each year within the LA coastal zone.

Plant Pest Quarantine Agricultural & Environmental Sciences - Horticulture and Quarantine Programs
Plant pest quarantine programs are administered through the State Entomologist Crop Pests and Diseases Law, the Sweet Potato Law, and Plant Pest Quarantine Regulations. Additionally, we work cooperatively with USDA-APHIS in its various plant pest programs. Every effort is made to utilize the latest scientific data and technology to insure that products certified are in fact free from pests, while minimizing the impact on industry and allowing free trade.
