Release Date5/6/2009

Do you need a better way to market your value-added agricultural product?
The USDA Rural Development Value-Added Producer Grant funding might be the answer.
An eligible value-added agricultural product is a product that reflects a change in its physical state. Like growing blueberries and making blueberry jam.
Other conditions that apply are that your product uses a differentiated production or marketing idea or it can produce farm-based renewable energy.
Applications for reserved funds must be received by June 22 and unreserved funds by July 6, 2009.
Eligible producers include independent producers, farmer or rancher cooperatives, agricultural producer groups, majority-controlled producer-based or local regional supply networks.
The USDA’s Rural Development’s Value-Added Producer Grant can help give you a competitive edge in today’s market.
